Let’s hear a true story.
Today I want to talk about two people I used to work with. We’ll call one “A” and the other one “B”. They are two people I consider to be quite different from one another. A third colleague who I’ll refer to as “C” said something to me that changed my perspective on life.
“C” said something akin to “Both “A” and “B” were ambitious people. They both often did things to further their careers. But the difference between “A” and “B” was that “A” would throw you under the bus to get ahead and “B” would do everything he could to take you along for the ride. B was an opportunist, but he also worked to create opportunities for others.”
Friends, in this New Year, I hope you try to be like person “B” and take people along for the ride in your journey in life. This doesn’t have to be a zero-sum game. Win-wins do exist if you take the time to look for it. Don’t be like “A”. A stands for Asshole.
